Speak with an industrial connectivity expert

What could you accomplish if all your machines across all manufacturing operations were speaking the same language? Kepware provides critical technical features that enable accessibility, aggregation, optimization, connectivity, security, and diagnostics.

ETX Data Services has been the African distributor for Kepware for 20 years, providing licensing and technical support to system integrators and end users across hundreds of different industries. We provide system design assistance, Kepware product licenses and technical assistance. We also provide 30 day demo licenses if required, to allow complete system testing prior to purchasing licenses. The 2 hour, fully functional demo run-time period is standard on all Kepware products which is usually sufficient for testing. (Stop and Start the runtime for another 2 hours.)

Kepware provides data access for industrial client applications (such as MES and SCADA) and IoT (Internet of Things) and big data analytics software via OPC, proprietary protocols, and IT protocols.

Kepware optimizes communications and reduces network and device load via data conditioning and reduction, and protocol-specific optimization.

Kepware drivers support a broad range of protocols found in various verticals, wired and wireless networks, databases, custom software applications, and OPC servers.

LinkMaster provides a means of linking data between OPC servers, thus serving as a universal bridge for OPC systems. LinkMaster acts as both an OPC server and DDE server, allowing it to bridge legacy DDE systems and new OPC-enabled applications. LinkMaster is a fast and robust Windows application that requires no programming knowledge. Simply “Drag and Drop” to create your links.

RedundancyMaster increases the reliability and availability of your OPC data by allowing multiple OPC servers to be configured into redundant pairs. Each redundant pair seamlessly appears as a single OPC server to any OPC client application. RedundancyMaster can be added to an existing client/server application without any reconfiguration of the application, keeping your processes going without any downtime.

ETX Data Services has supplied industrial communication software and data services and systems to the South African market for the past six years. During this time the company has increased its range from the basic Kepware OPC server to a number of Kepware data communication interface products. “As our sales of software licences increased, we realised that our focus should be concentrated on increasing our range of industrial data applications and on improving our product support of these applications.

Following this business decision we have decided to minimise projects in order to focus on the sales and support of the software,” says eTX Data Services’ Neil Upfold. “In order to create a comprehensive offering, we analysed our existing products and then selected three other new suppliers of applications that interface with the Kepware OPC products and will be of interest to our target market and our existing customers. The mix of products has been established via distributor agreements.”

Upfold says that the primary benefit to customers using these applications is that they are all simply configurable applications that can be installed, configured and commissioned in a short space of time. The interfacing and interaction of most of these systems via the OPC standard ensures that interoperability problems are minimised. A second benefit is the cost effective pricing. All the applications are scaleable so users only pay for what they need. Some of the applications like the OPC server and the Data Hub are not tag based, so are generally expandable at no cost. The other applications are expandable by upgrading the licence to cover more devices or more tags.
